CLIA-Certified Lab

CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) is the federal program, overseen by CMS with FDA and CDC involvement, that certifies U.S. laboratories performing tests on human samples. A reputable at-home testing service processes samples in CLIA-certified labs — usually the same class of facility a doctor’s office would use. Checking for CLIA certification is one of the fastest ways to separate a real testing service from a dubious one.
