CAP Accreditation
CAP accreditation is a voluntary program from the College of American Pathologists that inspects laboratories against standards widely considered stricter than the CLIA baseline. Many labs used by direct-to-consumer testing services hold both CLIA certification and CAP accreditation. When a service names its lab partners, CAP accreditation is a meaningful extra trust signal — not a guarantee of the right test choice, but evidence of lab quality.
