How do at-home lab tests actually work?
Two models dominate. Mail-in kits ship you a collection kit — finger-prick card, swab, saliva, or urine — which you return to a certified lab, with results posting to a secure portal in a few business days. Lab-visit services flip it: you order online, a physician network authorizes the test, and you walk into a national lab location for the draw, usually with faster turnaround. Both run samples through CLIA-certified laboratories; the difference is collection method, speed, and test menu. Results are for your review with a healthcare provider — the services themselves say the same.
