Are at-home test results private?
The mainstream services deliver results only through a secure portal, ship in unmarked packaging, and describe their data practices in published privacy policies — which genuinely differ, and are worth reading before you buy. Two nuances matter: services that bill insurance create an insurance record (many DTC services are cash-pay precisely to avoid that), and certain results, such as some positive STD results, are reportable to public-health authorities by law regardless of where you test.
