IgG vs. IgE

IgE antibodies are involved in true allergic reactions, and IgE-based allergy testing is done under medical supervision. Most at-home “food sensitivity” panels measure IgG antibodies instead — a marker whose clinical meaning is debated, with major allergy organizations cautioning that IgG reactivity often reflects normal exposure to a food rather than a problem. Honest comparison of these kits starts with that distinction, and allergy questions belong with an allergist.
